Marketing Communication

As Director of Marketing Communication (MarCom) at Patton Electronics, I have worked with the Vice President of Sales, product line managers, engineers, and managers at branch facilities in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and Asia to promote brand awareness and provide information about Patton’s products and services to customers.

Experienced in the following aspects of product marketing and corporate identity development:

Website work is done in Adobe DreamWeaver using HTML and CSS coding to stage designs, and/or Photoshop for creating new concepts. Collateral production is mostly done in Affinity Publisher or QuarkXPress (graphics are created in Adobe Illustrator/Photoshop or Affinity Designer/Photo).

Website Design

The Patton website (below left) is one of the oldest on the web, having been online since 1995. The site had its first facelift in 1996, and has had several more since I joined Patton in 1999. In 2018, I worked with the IT Manager on an extensive site redesign to make the layout responsive so it would accommodate tablets and mobile devices. Using a Bootstrap template as a foundation, I created new designs in Photoshop, which the IT Manager turned into responsive CSS webpages.

My personal website (below right) is based on the Bootstrap Resume/CV theme, which I modified with a new color scheme, additional pages, responsive image galleries, and breadcrumb trails that were created using CSS and HTML coding in Adobe Dreamweaver.

Corporate Identity (Logos and Stationery)

Responsible for helping Patton create brand awareness by harmonizing marketing communications so advertisements from Patton reps in India, for example, look the same as those from the United States. I have achieved this through the use of branding guides for logos and stationery; distributing the Patton Marketing Catalog so giveaways and collateral for trade shows have a consistent style; and ensuring that technical documentation maintains high quality and accuracy. I assist in other branding efforts by providing graphics and editorial services for presentations, proposals, digital signage, and so on.

Press Releases

I prepared releases for global distribution through PR Newswire and Businesswire. Often the releases were translated into multiple languages. Upon publication, I added the releases to the Newsroom on Patton's website and distributed them via email to subscribers on our mailing list.

Offset and In-house Printing

Worked with offset printing companies to print the Patton catalog and solutions guides. When postage rates became too costly, Patton stopped printing the catalog, and decided to do in-house printing of manuals and glossy guides, so I was tasked with making that happen. I organized the process, and twice over 10 years recommended printers that were selected by Patton. A sample doc showing comparisons between printers and my recommendation is included below.
